Interested in our oceans? Looking for volunteer opportunities? The World Oceans Day NL Committee is looking for volunteers to help out during our annual World Oceans Day celebration on June 6, 2026! The 2026 St. John's/Mount Pearl MS Walk is taking place Sunday, May 31st at the Reid Community Centre. We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help us bring this event to life! We desperately need route marshals to ensure our walk participants are kept safe on the route. If you can help us with this role, please reach out!As a Route Marshal, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and guidance of participants during the MS Walk. Responsibilities include setting up directional signage along the designated route, alerting participants to potential hazards or route changes, managing traffic flow at intersections, and providing encouragement and support to participants throughout the event. The Heather Cutler Foundation is a Canadian charity headquartered in Newfoundland and Labrador dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for people affected by pancreatic cancer.We are currently recruiting Event Support Volunteers to assist with upcoming digital and in-person initiatives. Volunteers will work closely with our Director of Events and Outreach to support event coordination, outreach tracking, and operational planning.This is a flexible, project-based role suitable for students or individuals interested in nonprofit work, public health, communications, or event management.Responsibilities may include:• Building and maintaining event and partner contact lists• Assisting with outreach coordination and tracking• Supporting social media and promotional materials• Organizing volunteer availability for events• Providing support during virtual or in-person events• Light administrative tracking and coordinationThis role typically requires approximately 4–6 hours per week, with short increases around event dates.
