YMCA of Greater Halifax/Dartmouth/YMCA of Greater Toronto-YMCA Summer Work Student Exchage

Supported by Canadian Heritage, the YMCA Summer Work Student Exchange is a national six-week work and language exchange program providing 16-17 year old youth with the opportunity to improve their second official language skills, gain employment experience through a paid work placement and participate in cultural activities on the weekends.

Youth from Northeast Avalon participate in Quebec, work at a non-profit and live with a host family while a group of youth will come to complete the exchange in Northeast Avalon. As the exchange is reciprocal, hosts are required in Northeast Avalon for incoming Quebec youth so that Northeast Avalon youth can go.
