Opportunity Description:

The Canadian Cancer Society is a national, community-based organization of volunteers whose mission is the eradication of cancer and the enhancement of the quality of life of people living with cancer.

We are currently seeking volunteers for our Volunteer Driving Program. This program is comprised completely of volunteers, and operates from Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8:30am and 4:30pm. A cancer patient is matched with a friendly Volunteer Driver living in their area who is able to provide them with transportation to and from their cancer-related appointments.

Interested volunteers are expected to have availability suited to the hours of the program, listed above. Volunteer Drivers are also required to utilize their own vehicles and gasoline for the purpose of transporting clients. With this particular volunteer opportunity, volunteers are asked to preform one drive a week for a client, with the exception of time-off for holidays, vacation, midterms, etc.

All interested parties are required to participate in a Criminal Record Check through the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary. *Volunteers are not required to pay the processing fee.
