Make a Difference in Your Community

The St. John's Farmers' Market was bustling on Thursday, but the usual crafts, produce and other goods were largely absent. Instead, the market transformed into the My St. John's Live Expo, an event hosted by the St. John's Immigration Partnership to showcase the resources available to newcomers.

Nine people have been invested into the Order of Newfoundland and Labrador in a ceremony at Government House in St. John's on Wednesday morning. The award is the province's highest honour, given for demonstrated excellence and achievement in any field of endeavour benefiting in an outstanding manner Newfoundland and Labrador and its residents.

An emotional gathering on Random Island earlier this week to remember a woman who was passionate about the local walking trails. Thursday marked one year since the passing of Donna Vardy, a passionate volunteer who was involved in a number of local organizations including local ground search and rescue, the SPCA, and was an advocate for the resettled community of Pope’s Harbour.
