Opportunity Description:

The volunteer would fill the position of the Community Outreach Volunteer at our Provincial Office in Mount Pearl. Our hours of operation are Monday – Friday 8:30 -4:30.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Volunteer

• Follow up calls with new clients
• Update and record client information
• Assist with office and administration tasks
• Complete other relevant tasks as outlined by the Chief Executive Officer

Skills & Requirements

• Some post-secondary education in the field of Social Work, Psychology Nursing or Sociology
• Experience in the field of counseling considered an asset
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Vulnerable Sector check and Criminal Record check
• Experience with a non-profit organization
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia
• Knowledge of the Programs and Services offered by the Alzheimer Society
• Positive Attitude!
