Does your schedule have flexibility during the work week? Are you great in a crowd? Have you always dreamed of being a famous personality? Is the mighty lion your spirit animal?
Young Adult Cancer Canada (YACC) — Canada’s leading support organization for young adults dealing with cancer — is looking for someone to “liven up” Razor’s public appearances! This is a great opportunity for university students, shift workers, or those working from home! Most events will be in St. John’s, and there may be some travel to nearby areas.
Duties:
- Attend Shaves for the Brave in the metro region as our mascot to dish out high fives, pose for photos, and keep the energy up
- Commitments last an average of two to three hours from start to finish, not including travel
- Shave for the Brave events are organized weeks in advance, and we will work together on a schedule
- Keep your identity anonymous
Qualifications:
- Energetic, friendly, and comfortable in crowds
- Responsible and reliable
- No known health concerns that could conflict with wearing the costume, such as heart trouble, back trouble, pregnancy, overheating, contagious conditions, etc.
- Between 5’8″ and 6’0″ in height, though there may be some flexibility
- Access to personal transportation is preferred
- Certificate of Conduct is required
Since he joined the team last year, Razor has become a key player of the Shave Team, and his presence helps make each event a monumentally memorable one for Shavers, Head Hunters, and supporters. As Razor, you get the benefit of knowing you’re helping Shavers feel as special as we feel they are whilst helping young adults deal with cancer in Canada.
If this seems like the opportunity for you, please email alicia@youngadultcancer.ca with a few words about yourself, your availability, and why you would like to animate our mascot!
