Opportunity Description:

The East Coast Trail Association will launch five vital projects in September and urgently needs project team volunteers. The primary responsibility for volunteers will be to provide management and oversight, while working with contracted professional services to perform the scope of work. Website Development We’re redeveloping our website to deliver a web experience to match the world-class trail experience. You can help us provide direction to a contracted vendor and play a significant role in preparing content for the website. We need volunteers with knowledge and experience related to website design/development, content management systems, digital marketing, and writing and editing skills. Fundraising and Revenue Strategy We’re developing a new fundraising and revenue model capable of sustaining the trail and the Association. You can help guide the assessment of the current funding model and development of a new fundraising and revenue strategy, including the delivery of a legacy fund campaign to protect and sustain the trail. We need volunteers with knowledge and experience related to fundraising, revenue generation, communications, marketing and corporate relations. Trail Maps and Information Delivery We’re defining and implementing a new mapping and information delivery system to help manage the trail and generate products and services such as trail maps and trail/community information. You can help guide the definition, setup and implementation of a GIS system and mapping model to manage the trail and deliver information products and services. We need volunteers with knowledge and experience related to GIS, mapping, information management, and delivery of information as a product or service, and technology integration. Trailhead and Community Signage We’re improving our trailhead and community signage to help hikers locate the trails and to make sure they are prepared to enter the wilderness. You can help us assess current signage and guide the design of new signage to improve hiker experience and safety. We need volunteers with knowledge and experience related to trail management, signage and graphic design, marketing, fundraising or health and safety. Highway Hiking and Parking We’re exploring the need to reduce the amount of “highway hiking” while providing for safe, enjoyable hiking experiences through communities, as well as assessing the capacity of our trailhead parking lots to accommodate increasing hiker demand.
