We are the largest humanitarian organization in the world! For over 100 years, the Canadian Red Cross Society has been a highly trusted and respected organization dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable populations in Canada and around the world. In Atlantic Canada, our organization provides assistance through Community Health and Wellness, Emergency (Disaster) Management, and Injury Prevention programs including First Aid. All Canadian Red Cross programs are guided by 7 fundamental principles; Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independence, Voluntary Service, Unity and Universality. The Community Health and Wellness programs in Newfoundland and Labrador aim to improve the health outcomes of the most vulnerable through community based actions, for example Meals on Wheels and our Health Equipment Loam Program.
