The Canadian Cancer Society is a national, community-based organization of volunteers whose mission is the eradication of cancer and the enhancement of the quality of life of people living with cancer.
The Canadian Cancer Society’s Volunteer Driving Program operates Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm. This program connects cancer patients with a friendly volunteer driver in their area who is able to provide them with transportation to and from their cancer related appointments. Reporting to the Community Services Coordinator, the Volunteer Driving Program Coordinator would work with volunteers to schedule drives for clients who are registered for the program. The Volunteer Driving Program Coordinator will also work with new clients of the Canadian Cancer Society who wish to register for the Volunteer Driving Program.
Hours of Volunteer Work
Friday, 10:00am – 3:00pm
Qualifications
- Previous volunteer experience is considered an asset
- Demonstrated understanding of confidentiality and ability to uphold patient confidentiality
- Demonstrated ability to work well with minimal supervision
