GLOCAL’s new and innovative ONLINE VOLUNTEERING program enables Canadians to engage in remote volunteering with 1500+ peers nationwide, at their own pace.
How does Our Online Volunteer Programs Work
- Visit our GLOCAL website and fill out application form;
- Join Orientation Session (twice daily during weekdays) and Discuss Your Plan with GLOCAL track managers:
2.1. Pick One or More Tracks of the Themes of Your Choice and apply them in community service and civix knowledge mobilization context

2.2. Choose a Volunteering Plan:
- 5 hours per YEAR
- 5 hours per MONTH
- 5 hours per WEEK
Please note that the ‘5 hours’ specified in each program are meant to be a rough idea of volunteers’ time commitment. It is not binding, nor restricted. Every volunteer can work more hours or fewer hours than 5 hours according to their availability. Actual volunteer hours will be recognized accordingly.

The micro-grants provide Canadian youth with the opportunities to design and produce research, short videos, interviews, or digital projects that promote civic engagement in Canada. Scope of the responsibilities:
- Work closely with GLOCAL Research Analysts and supervisors to gather, enter, and analyse data on political representatives at the municipal level.
- Conduct research and understand the political environment of the province. This includes but is not limited to research on local issues, provincial policy concerns, and regional politics.
- Provide support in GLOCAL’s social media engagement, create infographics, and produce short videos on social causes.
- Assist in community engagement and outreach at the local level.
Successful applicants will have the following qualifications:
- Good oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- A passion for creative writing, community engagement and partnerships development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Strong intercultural understanding.
- Ability to meet deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced, flexible environment.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Professionalism, punctuality, and reliability.
The successful candidate will volunteer with the executive team of the Foundation. Ongoing support will be offered to ensure holistic development of the volunteer in capacities relevant to the position. A weekly meeting will be scheduled for the volunteer to receive support and direction, as well as targeted opportunities and guidance for personal growth and development, such as future career planning. We aim to make this a comprehensive learning experience for the volunteers.
