Opportunity Description:

The Event Planner positions (3) will focus on the coordination and execution of events
within the organization, as well as supporting corporate sponsorship specific to planned
events. Event Planners should have relative experience in the areas of event coordination
or planning and promotion and be comfortable working under tight time constraints. In
addition, the Event Planner will be expected to be available for sporadic hours when
needed, including evenings and weekends of which events are held.

Primary responsibilities of this position include, event planning, design and execution, while
managing all event delivery elements within time limits, liaise with internal and external
stakeholders to identify needs and to ensure goals are met, provide feedback and periodic
reports to internal stakeholders as required, arrange and organize facilities and manage all
event details including decor, catering, entertainment, transportation, ticketing, special
guests, equipment, promotional materials, troubleshooting issues, etc. as needed, aid in
developing event budgets and carefully monitor event finances, collaborate with the
marketing & communication team, as well as the volunteer & membership team to ensure
clear direction across all groups. You work well with independently and under pressure, you
possess time, resource and project management skills and possess strong communication
skills. You must have access to reliable transportation. Previous experience as an event
planner would be a tremendous asset. The hourly commitment varies depending on the
event schedule but all applicants are expected to be able to devote 5-10 hours per month
and between 10-20 hours per month as events draw near.
