Canadian Red Cross (Warehouse and Maintenance Technician)

As a volunteer in this role, you will : 

Cleans and disinfects health equipment, according to standards, with support.
Maintains health equipment, according to standards, with support.
Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and carries out repairs, following manufacturer’s specifications.
Documents repairs and maintains up-to-date equipment records in inventory management system.
Helps clients and caregivers to navigate equipment needs and informally access community resources.
Active in the community, providing support to HELP program staff with equipment delivery, setup and removal at HELP Service Centres, care facilities or in client homes.

You bring these essential talents : 

Mechanically inclined and able to troubleshoot problems of a technical nature.
Some lifting of equipment is required.  We recommend volunteers be capable of lifting upwards of 30lbs. Accommodations will be made if required.
Ability to work independently and to collaborate in a team environment.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Strong verbal communication and client relations skills.
