VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY – NLAA NEEDS VOLUNTEERS FOR XC SERIES FOR SCHOOLS

Do you need volunteer hours, or an excuse to get out of the house on a Saturday morning? Volunteering with NLAA is a fun way to earn your volunteer hours, while learning new skills, meeting new friends, and giving back to the community. No previous experience necessary.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Athletics Association (NLAA) is the sole governing body in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador for the sport of Athletics. We organize events for Cross-Country, Track & Field, and Road Races for people of all ages and athletic abilities.

UPCOMING EVENTS FOR 2023
All of these events will take place at Bowring Park, St. John’s, NL

Saturday, September 23rd – Cross-Country Meet #1
Saturday, September 30th – Cross-Country Meet #2
Saturday, October 7th – Cross-Country Meet #3
Saturday, October 28th – Cross-Country Championship

Some of the tasks volunteers are needed for include:

Bib number pickup
Course Set up/take down
Marshaling
Handing out medals
Directing athletes/spectators entering the park towards the event
Crowd Control
Course sweeper – Following the last runner so one gets left behind
