From two-day certification courses to lunch-and-learns, our qualified facilitators can customize sessions to meet your needs. We also meet requests for information booths at conferences, schools, and other events.</li> </ul> &nbsp; <ul> <li>Our <a href="https://cmhanl.ca/what-we-do/justice-program/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Justice Program</strong></a> Case Managers work with individuals involved in the NL corrections system to promote recovery and reduce recidivism. Our team assists members of the Justice Program with a variety of needs, including housing, food security, employment, counseling, and more. Case Managers work with members while incarcerated and following their release for a period of up to 18 months.</li> </ul> &nbsp; <ul> <li>CMHA-NL’s <a href="https://cmhanl.ca/what-we-do/at-work-program/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>At Work Program</strong></a> provides employment support for people living with a mental health issue or mental illness who are unemployed or under-employed and are seeking meaningful employment. The At Work Program also provides wage subsidies for employers. The Employment Support Coordinator works with employers and employees to ensure a smooth transition to work.</li> </ul>

That means connecting children and youth with type 1 diabetes through Diabetes Canada’s D-Camps; providing healthcare professionals and people with diabetes with expert information that improves their care and self-management; assisting researchers working on leading-edge treatments; and advocating on behalf of those with diabetes for equity, improved access to supplies and more.

End Sexual Violence NL
St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador

There is a great need in our community for people like you to listen, believe, and support those affected by sexual violence. Our next training cycle begins January 30, 2024. Our volunteer supporters become part of a dedicated group of people who provide an invaluable service to survivors of sexual violence all across Newfoundland and Labrador. Involvement with the ESVNL provides volunteer supporters the opportunity to gain experience, knowledge, and skills in many areas, including crisis intervention, advocacy, not-for-profit organizations, and a variety of issues related to sexual violence. The trained individuals on our 24 hours crisis and support line are dedicated and passionate. Our volunteer supporters provide empathy, support, and trauma-informed responses for vulnerable individuals who need varying degrees of support. As part of this wonderful team not only will training be provided, but there is ongoing support and debriefing. Training is done virtually over zoom. This volunteer opportunity is flexible. Volunteers choose their own 4 hour shifts each month, and work from home. For more information email sva@endsexualviolence.com
