Overview of the Role:
The CoderDojo movement believes that everyone should have the opportunity to code and create with technology. It’s increasingly important in the modern world and much easier to learn these skills early. Coder Dojo has built a global network of free, volunteer-led, community-based programming clubs for young people. Coder Dojo will be aimed at 11-15 year olds who can visit the Dojo to learn to code, build a website, create an app or a game, and explore technology in an informal, creative and social environment. CoderDojo is part of the Raspberry Pi Foundation. The Mentors are the volunteers who provide support, guidance, and encouragement to the young people in completing their projects and developing their skills. Anyone who is passionate about technology and shares the CoderDojo spirit can be a mentor. The role of a mentor is not the same as that of a teacher or lecturer. Mentors help young people work through problems and encourage their efforts rather than directly delivering solutions.
