Brain tumour Foundation of Canada is a not for profit organization whose mission is to reach every person in Canada who is affected by a brain tumour through support, education, information and research.

Our volunteers come from diverse cultural backgrounds and ethnicities. YRES has many opportunities for volunteers as we are always expanding our programs. These opportunities allow you to give back to your community but also develop industry leading skills in a professional environment. YRES is a Charitable Not-for-Profit Organization that uses the help of community partners in order to carry out a variety of ever-expanding Educational Services.

Global Choice is a non-profit, non-governmental, and volunteer-based organization that provides intercultural learning opportunities to help high school students develop the knowledge, skills, and understanding needed to create a more just and peaceful world.

Home Again.  Two simple words.  But establishing a home isn’t always simple.  For those in transition from situations of abuse, homelessness, prison or war, for the un and under-employed or for those with disabilities, the struggle to create a new life is just starting. Part of this struggle involves establishing a home. For those lacking the means or social connections to make that happen, Home Again Furniture Bank can assist. Home Again Furniture Bank is a nonprofit organization that provides gently-used furniture and household items to individuals and families in need. Based in St. John's, Home Again works through a referral system of local agencies to ensure that everyone has a bed to sleep in. Central to Home Again is a cycle of giving and receiving that provides our most vulnerable citizens the means to create a home. In providing furniture, Home Again also helps to empower individuals and families as they rebuild their lives.  Getting a good night sleep on a proper bed makes moving forward seem feasible. Having a sofa to relax on with family makes life more enjoyable.  Being able to offer family and friends a chair to sit on, or a table to gather around, brings dignity and pride.   Home Again helps to build pride in homes and pride in our community.  Home Again is an eco-friendly charity.  Not only does our program help families, but we also provide a positive ecological impact as we divert furniture and home furnishings destined for local landfills.

The Frosty Festival has been a fixture in the City of Mount Pearl for over 3 decades. It began in 1983 as a volunteer-driven initiative that was organized by a group of community organizations. Now, as it enters its 36th year, the Frosty Festival has grown into the largest winter event of its kind in Atlantic Canada. The Frosty Festival offers a quality package of diverse entertainment that caters to all sectors of the population to encourage both indoor and outdoor activity during the winter. The Festival prides itself on keeping admission costs low to encourage maximum participation within the community.

Behind every person with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, there are hundreds of people dedicated to helping. The Alzheimer Society is the leading not-for-profit health organization working to improve the quality of life for those affected by Alzheimer's disease and other dementias and advance the search for the cause and cure. Since 1988, we've been dedicated to providing help for people with Alzheimer's disease and other dementias and their caregivers. That help comes in many ways.

For more than 60 years, Heart & Stroke has been dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke. Our work has saved thousands of lives and improved the lives of millions of others. You’ll probably run into someone today who is alive and well thanks to the countless Canadians who have supported our cause with their time and donations. Heart & Stroke is a leading funder of life-saving research, which has led to breakthroughs such as heart transplant surgery and a revolutionary stroke treatment that cuts the death rate by 50%.

Sci-Fi on the Rock is an annual not for profit science fiction, fantasy and horror festival held in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada. Moving into our 13th year we are going strong with an increasing number of attendees. Sci-Fi on the Rock is involved in our community year long and hosts and participates in many other geeky or community events.

Toastmasters is a global, non-profit educational organization that was started in 1924 to help people develop their public speaking and leadership skills. There are 340,000+ Toastmasters worldwide in more than 15,000 clubs like ours. Our club, Cabot Toastmasters, is part of that worldwide organization and was started in 1993. Our members come from all over the Mount Pearl-St. John's-CBS metro area. The Toastmasters program allows members to develop confidence in public speaking and leadership at their own pace, in a supportive and friendly club environment. We also try to give back to the community. Some members of our club regularly volunteer their time and expertise to teach a public-speaking program for pharmacy students at Memorial University.

We provide services to people living with MS and their families while advocating for change and funding research to end this disease.

The Heather Cutler Foundation is a Canadian charity dedicated to improving survival and quality of life for people affected by pancreatic cancer. The Foundation works to address critical gaps in awareness, healthcare policy, and patient support related to pancreatic cancer. Our work focuses on education initiatives, policy research, patient advocacy, and community engagement to help drive meaningful change in the pancreatic cancer landscape in Canada. Through collaborations with healthcare professionals, researchers, policymakers, and volunteers, the Foundation develops educational resources, supports public awareness efforts, and contributes to policy conversations aimed at improving outcomes for patients and families. Volunteers play an important role in supporting our initiatives. Opportunities may include research support, health education initiatives, communications and media work, data analysis, event support, and community outreach. The Foundation welcomes individuals who are passionate about contributing their skills and time to support pancreatic cancer awareness, research, and patient support initiatives.

Melanoma Canada advocates for and supports Canadians living with melanoma and skin cancer with helpful resources, education, psychosocial support services, and more. - Support melanoma and skin cancer patients, caregivers, and medical professionals through current and coordinated information and services. - Educate Canadians on melanoma and skin cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment options available. - Be the united voice of the melanoma and skin cancer community, advocating for early detection, timely diagnosis, and effective treatment options.
