Group Commissioner - 1st Roncalli Scouts (Airport Heights)

Description: Scouts Canada's NL Council is seeking a Group Commissioner to take the helm of our 1st Roncalli Group in Airport Heights! This position is generally administrative in nature and does not necessarily require a specific weekly commitment.  This is ideal for people who have relatively flexible schedules and great verbal and electronic communication skills.  There's no requirement to regularly attend weekly Section meetings (Beavers, Cubs, etc.), however it is encouraged from time-to-time to ensure program quality. While experience with Scouts or Guides is an asset, it is not required for this position. To ensure the success of our programs, we need the support of dedicated volunteers, just like you!  You don't even need to have kids in the program, just an interest in youth development and helping our groups succeed. Vice-president, Community Relations

Are you looking for an exciting new challenge with the opportunity to make a difference and help us seek and achieve a sustainable trail protection model that will support the long-term preservation of the East Coast Trail?   Our prime objective to secure and maintain the rights-of-way and trail corridor required to protect and preserve the Trail for future generations. We have just completed a project to identify & document landownership, as well as provincial and municipal zoning all wrapped into a new GIS system and we are looking for person who loves the trail and is passionate about preserving it for future generations. We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic volunteer, a leader who truly wants to help create and implement change.  Vice-president is responsible for the mandate of the Community Relations Committee, reports into the President and serves on the Board of Directors.  The major duties of the committee include: land investigation & analysis, town plans & business, community outreach & communication, research & legislation, negotiating access & rights-of-way and building the team.

Volunteer Driving Program Coordinator

Description: The Canadian Cancer Society is a national, community-based organization of volunteers whose mission is the eradication of cancer and the enhancement of the quality of life of people living with cancer. The Canadian Cancer Society's Volunteer Driving Program operates Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm. This program connects cancer patients with a friendly volunteer driver in their area who is able to provide them with transportation to and from their cancer related appointments. Reporting to the Community Services Coordinator, the Volunteer Driving Program Coordinator would work with volunteers to schedule drives for clients who are registered for the program. The Volunteer Driving Program Coordinator will also work with new clients of the Canadian Cancer Society who wish to register for the Volunteer Driving Program. Hours of Volunteer Work Friday, 10:00am - 3:00pm Qualifications Previous volunteer experience is considered an asset Demonstrated understanding of confidentiality and ability to uphold patient confidentiality Demonstrated ability to work well with minimal supervision Interested candidates may apply by emailing Community Services Coordinator and Volunteer Lead, Nikola Allen at nallen@nl.cancer.ca.
