Meals on Wheels - Driver

The Meals on Wheels program is looking for volunteers to be part of their mission The Meals on Wheels program mitigates the challenges of food security and social isolation in our community. We are seeking volunteers to assist with the delivery of meals to community members.

As a volunteer in this role, you will: 

Pick up prepared meals from the designated location. Deliver the designated meal to clients’ homes on a pre-determined schedule. Observe routine precautions in the handling of food, including hand hygiene. Provide professional customer service when delivering meals. Maintain accurate records of program deliverables as instructed, possibly including trips, meals delivered and mileage.

You bring these essential talents: 

Ability to pick up and deliver meals using your own transportation method. Strong customer service and communication skills. Confident in ability to handle client related incidents. Training will be provided. Sensitive to needs of seniors/people with disabilities. Punctual, reliable, conscientious. Full Driver's license and a satisfactory driving record is required.

Run For Women at Quidi Vidi Lake

Description: Calling All Volunteers! Our Run For Women is taking place in St. John’s at Quidi Vidi Lake on May 26th in support of the women’s-focused programs at Stella’s Circle. We are seeking volunteers to come and help out at our event. There are lots of ways to get involved both before the race and on race day. We need help with pre-race kit pick up, water stations, route marshals, start/finish line, food and lots more! And why not bring a friend? All volunteer positions are open to high school students who need to collect Community Service hours. Description: This program is an opportunity for you to gain leadership skills, run a project of your choosing, receive valuable experience for post-secondary applications, or get volunteer hours. This is open for youths, ages 15-29 years old. Here’s what you will do:  Identify a need/issue in your community and organize a project that will address that need/issue. You will also receive a grant of up to $500 (or more, depending on your project details) to fund your project. You can run a basketball tournament to bring youth together and promote physical exercise, you can host a video game night to help others destress, you can start a community library box to encourage reading, or you can do just about anything else you think of. *Check out this website to see more awesome community projects that you can do! CIBC Run for the Cure Leadership Positions - St. John's, NL (multiple available)

Description: What is the event? The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is a 5k or 1k walk or run. It is the largest single-day, volunteer-led event in Canada in support of the breast cancer cause. This year’s event will be taking place on Sunday, October 5, 2025. Committee Member Overview: You are passionate about the breast cancer cause, well-connected in your community, and enjoy event planning. The ideal candidate for this volunteer role has a positive attitude, communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong sense of self-motivation and time management.
