Description: Bridges to Hope Food Aid Center provided 10,000 hampers to persons needing assistance in 2016. We are committed to reducing the effects of poverty on individuals and families in our community. We are currently seeking volunteers to work in the food pantry, whose primary role would be to  pack food in bags for our clients. The hours are 9:45 am to 1:00 pm. If you said yes to any of the the above then you have found the right place! Scouts Canada's Newfoundland & Labrador Council is looking for volunteers (18+) to join our Scouting groups all across the province!  The Scouts Canada program is open to BOTH boys and girls, ages 5-26, with age-specific programming.  To ensure the success of these programs, we need the support of dedicated volunteers, just like you!  You don't even need to have kids in the program, just an interest in youth development and the great outdoors! Many of our current groups could benefit from additional volunteers, willing to dedicate approximately 10-12 hours/month to the program, generally from September-June, and some groups offer occasional summer activities. Special Olympics Provincial Summer Games Volunteers

Description: Currently Recruiting Volunteers for the Summer Games July 13-16, 2017 The Special Olympics Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Summer Games are coming to the metro area this summer and volunteers are needed to help make it a successful and encouraging Games for everyone. From July 13-16, 2017 over 700 athletes, coaches, and supporters from across the province will compete in St. John’s, Mount Pearl, and Conception Bay South in track and field, swimming, power lifting, rhythmic gymnastics, bowling, and more! Please join us as we bring these exciting games and inspiring athletes to the area. In order to ensure that these Games are a true success, your help is needed. You don’t need a sport background or any previous experience with SONL to volunteer during the Summer Games. All you need is enthusiasm for helping empower people with intellectual disabilities through sport.  If you have a couple hours to give, or if you want to volunteer for the entire weekend, you can be a volunteer.
